That formula is the only way I know to build truly outstanding coin collections, regardless of the depth of one’s pocketbook. Great coins do not have to be expensive! I get a special thrill picking up great coins that I can sell for only a couple hundred dollars.

Exceptional MS 64 FBL Franklin half dollars are a case in point. While most dates are priced for as little as $50 - $150, try finding really exceptional MS 64 FBL pieces! They are extremely tough. Most 64 FBL’s are very low end for the grade, with very heavy bagmarks, and are covered with foggy, hazy toning giving them below average eye-appeal. So it is with great satisfaction when I am able to acquire fully brilliant, minimally marked examples, that border on gem! They are GREAT coins!
