Struck during World War II, it was made from zinc-coated steel instead of the usual copper, as copper was needed for wartime ammunition and equipment. The change marked the only time in U.S. history that circulating Lincoln cents were produced from steel.
Only 213 graded at MS 67 PLUS by NGC. This steel cent boasts brilliant silver fields and it is one of my favorite clear representations of our nation’s history!
