1959-P TYPE 2 REVERSE FRANKLIN NGC MS 64- We The People
A first here at R&I, we have the 1959-P Franklin with the Type 2 Reverse. The “Type 2 Reverse” is seldom found among 1959-P Franklins, and is distinct from your typical 1959-P due to the reverse being struck from a Proof die as opposed to the Mint State die. It’s visibly noticeable in the sharpness in detail throughout the reverse, but in particular the eagle has clearly defined feathers.
This example features stunning brilliance and luster on both sides, and beautiful accent toning at the bottom of the obverse. Deep blue, teal, fiery red, and sunburst orange create a delicate crescent along the bottom of the rim through “In God We Trust”.
